This is the new home of my blog “Developer“, which I have been running for a long time over at BlogSpace.
- I keep that blog active for as long as I haven’t moved over all posts to this new one.
- I keep the original post dates for all articles transferred to this new home.
- I may not import in a certain order.
I have been struggling for a while with the decision whether to move or not. I’m happy with the old one but I have growing concerns about the software running it.
A couple of years ago I had decide between LifeType and WordPress MU as the engine powering my various blogs. Back in those days, WordPress (the self-hosting edition) and even more so WordPress MU was, to say the least, a nightmare from a userfriendly point of view. I gave it a number of tries but finally settled for LifeType which was a year or two ahead in development. It even churned out new themes and plugins. Unfortunately, 2008 marked the end of that and ever since it has been in a coma – barely alive, close to death.
Rather than importing all posts I will do it manually instead, which gives me the opportunity to filter out some trash and update a number of technical instructions.
At least for as long as I haven’t completed the move, the old blog will remain accessible.
